Ole Skool Crew: Dyan Lopez

Dyan Lopez-Fiamengo has been teaching dance for over 30 years.� She has an extensive background in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, Musical Theatre and hip hop.� She has a degree from CSULB in PE with a specialty in coaching men�s sports.� Dyan started dancing at the age of 4 performing in parades. She studied hula, tap and baton. At the age of 13 Dyan made her television debut dancing on Channel 11 where she was a featured dancer. The performing group she was in was chosen to be a part of Dick Clark�s Puttin on the Hits (An hour TV special). She was in the music video �Earth Wind and Fires �Magnetic�, and How to Plan the Perfect Wedding with Marion Ross from Happy Days.� She toured with the Hollywood Starlets, which gave her the opportunity to perform throughout the United States.� She has done some commercials, radio guest spots, movies, Jerry Lewis telethons, and fashion shows.� She was a guest on Rick Dee�s Movin 93.9.� She made appearances at the White House, Hawaii, and amusement parks across the nation.� She was in the movie �Tap� with Gregory Hines. She has choreographed the half time show for the Clippers Happy clinic for the past 10 years, numerous field shows, fashion shows, and dance competitions. When Dyan was choreographer for the American Youth Express children�s performing company, the group was chosen to be in a five month run at the Pantages Theater with Michael Damien in the show Joseph and the Amazing Tech. Dreamcoat. Dyan had the first all guys dance team for high school where one of her dancers Andre Fuentes went on to dance with Michael Jackson, Brittney Spears, and various artists as well as did the choreography for the music video �Womanizer.�� Dyan�s all guys and Co-ed dance teams were state champions for two years in a row out of the three that she had the team.� The boys were featured dancers at the Olympics opening ceremony in LA, and in Las Vegas at a Crystal Light convention with host Dana Carvy. Dyan performed with the legendary Cab Calloway and the Nicholas Brothers. She is currently performing with her tap company �The Hot Cotton Candies� and the orchestra �Le Jazz Hot�.� Her group opened for �The Mandrel Sisters�, many celebrity and charity events, etc. Her adult dance team opened for �The Four Tops,� �Ink Spots�, and many other gala events.� Dyan is the owner and direct of the over 40 dance team Ole Skool Crew. She was featured on Keeping up with the Kardashians �cheerleading� episode. She was also on Home and Family with Christina Ferrara. She did a behind the scenes with Nancy Grace on Dancing with the Stars. She has been featured on the front page of many local newspapers, Desperta America, channel 5 news with Gail Anderson, Alarma TV, channel 11 with Christine Devine who performed with the group in 2011, etc.� She also had the pleasure of dancing at over 7 �Lakers half time shows with one being the MPV game. Some of her theatre performances include Universal, Disneyland, Wiltern, Maxims Dinner Theatre, La Mirada Civic Light Opera, San Diego Terrace Theatre, Caesars Palace, (high rollers), Wadsworth with host Steve Allen, Ordway, and Norris Theatres.� Many of Dyan�s students have gone on to perform on and off Broadway and have danced in shows such as The Producers, Tarzan, 42nd Street, Fosse, and are Rocketts. Dyan currently judges dance competitions as well as teaching master classes throughout the US. Dyan was chosen top 4 out of thousands of entries for the Ulitmate Dance Mom segment for the Queen Latifah Show. Dyan is the Owner of Elite Dance Studio Rolling Hills Estates where she has award winning competition teams.
