The Bishop Montgomery Girl�s Varsity Basketball Team exemplified the qualities of not only being total athletes, but as young women that carry themselves with style and class. They are intelligent, talented, caring, and hardworking but most of all they are a cohesive group that epitomizes the future of female athletics.

The entire team maintained the necessary grade point averages and some even exceeded the minimum requirements. The majority of the team is college bound and/or has set goals for themselves beyond the hardwood. Although the team has been faced with injuries and illnesses, they remained close and supported one another outside of basketball. They attend one another�s family, religious and special events, and view themselves as family.

Unfortunately, some of the final scores were not always pleasant, but they stuck together and took a win as they would a loss, as a team. With the assistance and guidance of the coaching staff these girls have had a pretty good season and competed well against the best teams in California. They were ranked in the top 25 in the Los Angeles Times as well as the Daily Breeze throughout most of the season. They played against major public schools in the state, where the talent pool and population is much larger. They won some and lost some, but at the end of the day, teams had to take notice of the little Catholic School in Torrance.
