Kurt Carr and The Kurt Carr Singers, Mali Music to Perform at Sparks Gospel Night on June 3

Multi-Stellar Award-winning gospel artist Kurt Carr and The Kurt Carr Singers as well as Mali Music will perform in concert after the Los Angeles Sparks take on the Seattle Storm on Sunday, June 3 at STAPLES Center as part of the team�s annual Gospel Night. Tip-off against the Sparks� Western Conference rivals is set for 5:30 p.m. PT.

There is no additional cost for the concert, with special pricing for groups of 10 or more available now by calling 877-44-SPARKS (772757). Lower-level single game tickets for the June 3 Gospel Night and all 2012 Sparks home games will be available on April 27 at LASparks.com, by phone at 877-44-SPARKS (772757), at the STAPLES Center box office and at all Ticketmaster outlets. Carr�s music is a motivating blend of traditional gospel composition and vocals, elements of R&B, jazz, soul, blues and the distinct modern harmonies and singing styles found in urban contemporary gospel. Along with The Kurt Carr Singers, the Hartford, Conn., native has created six albums, most recently 2008�s Just the Beginning. Carr has won six Stellar Awards, the most prestigious honor in gospel music, with his 2000 release Awesome Wonder achieving gold-certified status. A true gospel Renaissance man, he has garnered four additional Stellar Awards for his work as a producer.

Mali Music is a gospel artist on the rise and has a unique sound with an arresting mash-up of contemporary pop, hip-hop, soul, alternative rock and inspirational storytelling. Last year he was featured on BET�s music video show 106 & Park as well as its Music Matters showcase, and can be seen singing with Kirk Franklin on BET�s Celebration of Gospel airing April 1. Mali Music has garnered over 1.6 million YouTube views of performances from his first two independent releases, 2008�s The Coming and 2009�s The 2econd Coming.

The Sparks will tip-off the 2012 season Friday, May 18 at the Seattle Storm before the same two teams do battle at STAPLES Center on Sunday, May 20 at 5:30 p.m.
