Detroit Shock Identify One In a Million

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Approximately 15 minutes before the noon tip-off of their game against the Connecticut Sun, the Detroit Shock pulled Andrea Gorski out of line as she came into the game and identified their 1,000,000th Fan in franchise history.

"It is obviously very surprising, but a nice recognition," said Gorski, who is starting her 10th year as head coach of the women's varsity basketball program at Ladywood High School. "I was telling my daughter that when I was her age, we never had the opportunity to see women's professional basketball, and now, to have the Shock draw one million fans is amazing. We really have come such a long way and now have great opportunities."

Gorski received a prize package that included two season tickets for the 2006 Detroit Shock season, a presentation at halftime at an upcoming game and a Detroit Shock prize package that included an autographed team basketball, a Shock jersey, Shock t-shirts and other Detroit Shock items.
