JOB SUMMARY
Assist the Basketball Operations department with day to day responsibilities that involve the various branches of the department. For college credit only.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Attend all team practices (typically 9am � 1pm) as well as all 18 home games from April 29th through September plus potential playoff games.
2. Assist basketball operations with scheduling home practices as well as visiting team practices.
3. Assist coaching staff in coordinating player appearances within the community.
4. Work with team President with statistics and other related information imperative to active and potential roster.
5. Work with basketball staff in compiling any and all information related to upcoming draft and player profiles.
6. Other duties as assigned by Head Coach, assistant coaches, trainer, equipment manager and player ambassador.
7. Work with business staff on all basketball related developments related to over basketball and business calendars.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Current student or recent college graduate.
2. Available during days as well as some nights and weekends
3. Ability to communicate effectively, while in a timely manner, with both internal and external staff
4. Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as ability to multi-task and prioritize
5. Ability to work on projects independently and maintain confidential information
6. Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
7. Maintain a professional image at all times
8. Valid Driver�s License and reliable transportation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Be able to work long hours and most weekends during the WNBA season

RESPONSIBILITIES
� Assisting our Executive offices staff with daily administrative tasks and business operations
� Assisting with team projects
� Assisting with the upcoming season and preparing reports, spreadsheets, programs, etc
� Assisting with other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
The ideal candidate must have great communication skills, be professional and able to multi-task. Applicant must have proficient computer skills including proficiencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Any experience working for a team, athletic department, or with a sporting event is beneficial. Candidate must be in a sport management, business marketing, communications and or business management program.
This is a non-paid internship and is requiring the individual to receive academic credit. The candidate will have to be in the office between 30-40 hours a week and have a flexible schedule.

Tulsa Pro Hoops, host organization of the Tulsa Shock, is recruiting a Sponsorship Department intern for the upcoming 2012 WNBA season. The WNBA Tulsa Shock season takes place October 2011 � Sept 15, 2012. This internship offers the opportunity to work with a diverse group of experienced staff members in a fast-paced, challenging environment. We are looking for hard-working, organized, dedicated individuals with a team player attitude and the desire to proactively take on responsibility throughout the fall, spring and summer semesters of the Tulsa Shock season.
SUMMARY
The internship takes place in the Tulsa Shock office located in downtown Tulsa. Sponsorship Department interns support various staff members in areas related to Sponsorship Partners, Events and Entertainment fulfillment and Marketing. These interns support the activation coordinator with sponsorship sales coordination, prospect research, keeping and updating prospecting lists, working on in-arena activations and set up, inventory tracking, website sponsorship promotion updates, photography and preparing sponsorship recap summaries. Additionally, the internship includes a considerable amount of in-arena activation duties including:
� Customer Service � Interns interact with current sponsors, prospective customers, and sales staff by phone and in person. Excellent telephone communication skills are required. Interns are required to fulfill sponsorship activations and promotions during the season. At no time during the internship are interns expected to solicit sponsorship sales.
� Intern Projects � Interns work on various team projects 20 � 40 hours per week. Projects include corporate research, creating and maintaining corporate sponsor photo libraries, activation fulfillment set-up, set-up of sponsorship functions and needs at BOK Center, supervision of the volunteer corps for giveaways and other activities during home game nights at BOK Center, etc. Also, interns will be taught how to create and assist with corporate sponsorship PowerPoint proposals.
This is a part-time (20-40 hours per week) unpaid internship for college credit. Spring internship begins January 2012 and end May 2012. Summer internships begin May 2012 and end September 2012. Interns are required to live in the Tulsa area for the duration of the internship or able to commute to the Tulsa office in a timely manner. Current college students in their freshman to senior years and recent college graduates may apply. Current college students chosen for the internship program may use the internship to receive college credit hours, if the college allows.
Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple projects, able to prioritize their time and be comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment. Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and strong organizational skills are a must. Excellent oral and written communication skills are important due to the significant number of phone calls and questions interns are required to handle. Knowledge about the game of basketball is not required.
