Zakaluzhnaya
The WNBA assigned Zakaluzhnaya, a Russian native and graduate of St. Petersburg College, to the Detroit Shock on May 12, 1999. She sat out the 1999 season, but joined Detroit as a reserve during the 2000 and 2002 campaigns. The Shock waived her on June 21, 2002 and the Phoenix Mercury signed her as a free agent on July 17, 2002 where she finished out the year. She has not played in the WNBA since, but she did compete in the 2002 FIBA World Championship with the Russian national team winning a silver medal in the process.
