Idaho State University
Idaho State University, established in 1901, first fielded an intercollegiate women's basketball team in 1974-75. They have advanced to one NCAA Tournament over the years. Mandi Carver, who was a member of the Shock's 2002 Training Camp roster, attended Idaho State.

Illinois, University of
Founded in 1867, the University of Illinois began competing in women's basketball in 1976-77 and they have eight NCAA Tournament appearances to their credit. Angelina Williams is the lone player who attended the University of Illinois and played for the Shock.

Indiana Fever


The Indiana Fever was founded in 2000 and is located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Fever plays at Conseco Fieldhouse. Anna DeForge, Niele Ivey, Astou Ndiaye-Diatta and Olympia Scott-Richardson all played for both the Fever and the Shock





Indiana University
Indiana University, established in 1820, launched its women�s basketball program for the 1972-73 collegiate season. Over the years, the Hoosiers have advanced to four NCAA Tournaments. Jill Chapman played for the Hooisers and the Shock.

Indiana State University
Prior to embarking on her WNBA coaching career, Shock Assistant Coach Cheryl Reeve was the head coach at Indiana State University from 1995-2000.

Initial Player Allocations, 1997 WNBA
On January 22, 1997, the WNBA began a four-part process to stock its original eight franchises with players. This first phase was called the Inititial Player Allocation. Future Shock guard Andrea Stinson was one of the original 16 players allocated in this manner as she was assigned to the Charlotte Sting.

Iowa, University of
The University of Iowa, established in 1847, launched its women�s basketball program for the 1974-75 collegiate season. Over the years, the Hawkeyes have made 16 NCAA Tournament appearances. Angela Hamblin played for Iowa and Detroit.

Ivey, Niele (2005)


Ivey
Niele Ivey, a Notre Dame grad, was originally drafted in the second round (19th overall) of the 2001 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. Ivey signed as a free agent with the Detroit Shock on April 13, 2005, but was waived on July 11 of that same year. The Phoenix Mercury signed her on July 15, 2005. She has not played in the WNBA since the 2005 season.
