WNBA Corrects Statistical Errors from Sun-Fever Game
NEW YORK, Sept. 7, 2011 -- The WNBA announced today that statistical errors were made during the Indiana Fever-Connecticut Sun game played on Sept. 2 at Mohegan Sun Arena.
It was determined that three assists were incorrectly awarded to Sun center Tina Charles during the games second quarter.
The assists on baskets by Kalana Greene and Danielle McCray with 5:56 and 5:02 left to play, respectively, should have been credited to Renee Montgomery. A basket by Kara Lawson with 1:59 to play in the quarter should have been scored as unassisted.
Due to the corrections, Charles finished Fridays game with 10 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists, while Montgomery finished with six assists.
WNBA games are reviewed to ensure the accuracy of the game statistics.
