Chicago Sky Guard Allie Quigley Named 2014 WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year Presented by Samsung
NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2014 Chicago Sky guard Allie Quigley is the winner of the 2014 WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year presented by Samsung award, the league announced today. Quigley received 26 votes from a national panel of 38 sportswriters and broadcasters to earn her first WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year presented by Samsung honor. Jia Perkins of the San Antonio Stars finished second with six votes, rookie Shoni Schimmel of the Atlanta Dream finished third with four votes, and Danielle Adams of the Stars received two votes to finish in fourth place.

Quigley played in all 34 games this season, averaging 24.8 minutes per contest. Among Eastern Conference players, Quigley ranked 12th in scoring (11.2 ppg), nearly tripling her 3.8 ppg from 2013. The Joliet, Ill., native also ranked sixth in the league in free-throw percentage (.879, 51-of-58) and eighth in three-point field goal percentage (.387, 41-of-106). In perhaps her best game of the season, Quigley registered a career-high 27 points to go along with five rebounds and four steals in a 81-79 loss against Atlanta on July 13.
Quigley received the first Player of the Week award of her career for games played Aug. 4 through Aug. 10. The sixth-year pro out of DePaul came off the bench in all three games that week to lead the East in scoring (18.0 ppg) as Chicago posted a 2-1 mark. For the week, Quigley also paced Eastern Conference players in field goal percentage (.700, 21-of-30) and three-point field goal shooting (.625, 5-of-8).
