We are disappointed that Shaquala will not be able to join us this season due to her injury, but April is an aggressive, hardnosed point guard that will give us some depth during training camp, said Hargrove. We are excited that Aiysha will rejoin us for training camp, her versatile play and upbeat personality will be a welcome return, added Hargrove.
The Mystics will retain the rights to Erica Taylor, the teams second round pick (19th overall) in the 2005 WNBA draft. Taylor will not be in camp this season, as she and her husband, Middleweight Boxer Jermain Taylor are expecting their second child.
