Monarchs Waive Three
SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 7 -- The Sacramento Monarchs today announced that the organization has waived Gretchen Becker, Jackie Higgins and Edmarie Lumbsley.

Higgins, a camp invitee, was initially selected in the second round (32nd overall) in the 2002 WNBA Draft by the Los Angeles Sparks and appeared in one game with the Sparks on May 11, 2002, versus the Phoenix Mercury and was waived from the Sparks on May 13, 2002.

Lumbsley, also a camp invitee, was initially selected in the third round (43rd overall) in the 2002 WNBA Draft by the Utah Starzz and was waived from that team on May 8, 2002. This was the first training camp for Gretchen Becker.

The Monarchs camp roster now stands at sixteen, with 11 returning players, three draft picks (including DeMya Walker, acquired in the 2003 WNBA Dispersal Draft) and two free agents.
