Today, it�s Mercury fan-favorite DeWanna Bonner�s turn.
This should come as no surprise to the X-Factor, but Bonner is currently lighting things up in Russia playing for Nadezhda Orenburg.
In fact, today (Nov. 7), she just hit a last-second layup to give Nadezhda a stunning 65-64 victory over the Turkish club Fenerbahce (Cappie Pondexter, Angel McCoughtry).
So, without any further ado, let�s get to know the real DeWanna Bonner.
PhoenixMercury.com � Before we get started, let�s paint a picture for the fans. You�re in Russia. Just returned from over a week on the road with little to no internet access. It�s freezing cold there. (It�s supposed to be 90 degrees in Phoenix today.) What were you doing before you started answering these questions?
DeWanna Bonner � [laughs] I was grocery shopping and eating M&M�s.
PhoenixMercury.com � Interesting. What was the last thing you watched on TV?
DeWanna Bonner � Modern Family.
PhoenixMercury.com � Love that show. When was the last time you laughed really hard?
DeWanna Bonner � Just like two seconds ago because I'm trying to tell my driver I need to go to the store and he took me home instead. He never understands me! LOL!
PhoenixMercury.com � Ah, the overseas life. What was the last film you saw?
DeWanna Bonner � Umm, it�s been a while. I�m more into television shows than movies. Unless game film counts�
PhoenixMercury.com � Game film definitely counts. Do you like to dance?
DeWanna Bonner � I love to dance and will dance circles around people!
PhoenixMercury.com � Who was the most recent person that called you?
DeWanna Bonner � Well, being overseas, my phone doesn�t ring much. So, I�d probably have to say my mom was the last person to call me.
PhoenixMercury.com � Type of music you like most?
DeWanna Bonner � I like a little bit of everything. But right now I'm really into Taylor Swift.
PhoenixMercury.com � Type of music you dislike most?
DeWanna Bonner � I probably dislike country the most! Don�t take it personal�
PhoenixMercury.com � Kind of ironic, DB. What was the last thing you bought?
DeWanna Bonner � I just bought way too many groceries, like, five minutes ago. My bags are soooo heavy! Help! Anyone!
PhoenixMercury.com � If you could eat lunch with any celebrity, who would it be?
DeWanna Bonner � This is a tough question since I have so many to name. Okay, I would definitely name a couple of my Mercury teammates but I have lunch with them often so I'm going to go with any Modern Family character � they are hilarious to me! My favorite is Luke so I would love to have lunch with him because I hear he is a genius.
PhoenixMercury.com � Who sent the last text message you received?
DeWanna Bonner � My sister.
PhoenixMercury.com � We�ll be respectful and won�t ask what the message said. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?
DeWanna Bonner � I'm more of an online shopper, but probably Saks [Fifth Avenue].
PhoenixMercury.com � Is your glass half empty or half full?
DeWanna Bonner � Definitely half full.
PhoenixMercury.com � Doesn�t surprise us one bit. Are you a good cook?
DeWanna Bonner � You know, I'm learning. I�ve been trying to learn for quite a while [laughs]. However, I think my cooking is good.
PhoenixMercury.com � What was the name of your first pet?
DeWanna Bonner � Mills Jacie Bonner. Yes, I gave her a middle name [laughs].
PhoenixMercury.com � Great name! What time do you get up in the morning?
DeWanna Bonner � Umm, you know�.like 30 minutes before it�s time to leave for practice. Which is terrible because I�m always late! And I am definitely not a morning person so it takes me a while to wake up.
PhoenixMercury.com � What do you do most when you are bored?
DeWanna Bonner � Well, I'm currently in school to get my master�s degree so I don't have time to get bored anymore [laughs]. If anyone�s wondering, I attend Grand Canyon University and I love it!
PhoenixMercury.com � Congrats on pursuing your master�s degree; that's awesome! Staying with the education theme (kind of), which came first, the chicken or the egg?
DeWanna Bonner � [long pause]�I'm going to say the chicken.
PhoenixMercury.com � How many keys on your key ring?
DeWanna Bonner � Just two. This is a funny question because I always ask my mom this. She has so many keys and I don�t understand why. But if I ask her for a certain key she goes straight to it!
PhoenixMercury.com � Can you close your eyes and raise your eyebrows at the same time?
DeWanna Bonner � I just tried it and, surprisingly, I can! Does that mean something? [laughs]
PhoenixMercury.com � I�m not sure what it means, but it�s probably something good. How many times do you let the phone ring before you answer it?
DeWanna Bonner � Oh, just until the name pops up on the screen.
PhoenixMercury.com � What is your best childhood memory?
DeWanna Bonner � Of course it has to do with basketball � winning our middle school championship. So exciting back then.
