Lynx to Host Native American Heritage Night
The Minnesota Lynx today announced that Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Dream will be Native American Heritage Night presented by Treasure Island Resort & Casino and the Prairie Island Indian Community.
Fans will be able to celebrate the Native American culture and witness some exciting basketball between teams with two of the three best records in the WNBA. The night will also include a pregame and halftime performance by the Prairie Island Indian Community Drummers and Dancers and a postgame Q&A session with Dream rookie guard and 2014 WNBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player, Shoni Schimmel. The eighth pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft, Schimmel is the first Native American to play in the WNBA. Entering Tuesday night's contest against Atlanta, a rematch of the 2013 WNBA Finals, Minnesota sits at 17-6, including a league-best 10-1 record at home. The Lynx are second in the WNBA in scoring, averaging 82.7 points per game and feature the top scorer in the WNBA in Maya Moore (24.1 points per game).
