LIBERTY TO TEAM WITH T-MOBILE FOR SEASON-LONG GREEN INITIATIVES AND CELL PHONE RECYCLING PROGRAM AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN THIS SUMMER
In honor of "WNBA Green Week," the New York Liberty is proud to announce that it will team up with T-Mobile USA to create a season-long platform promoting Green initiatives and cell phone recycling at Madison Square Garden this summer. The program will work in conjunction with T-Mobile's Mobilize initiative devoted to recycling over one million cell phones this year.
"WNBA Green Week" generates awareness to protect the environment. The Liberty and T-Mobile Green program will be featured during four games this season, beginning June 11 versus the Atlanta Dream, followed by June 18 versus the Seattle Storm, July 18 versus the Indiana Fever and August 14 versus the Phoenix Mercury. At each game, fans will be encouraged to bring their old cell phones to the recycling bins on the concourse at The Garden. T-Mobile Brand Ambassadors will also be on hand to educate fans about phone recycling.
Its great to have T-Mobile involved with the New York Liberty for Green Week and the Go Green Awareness Nights across the country, said Ryan Butz, director of customer marketing for T-Mobile USA. Not only will attending the games be a fun time for families, but they can also make a positive impact to the environment if they bring in their unused phones to recycle.
We are proud to be working with T-Mobile to offer another important and impactful opportunity for Liberty fans to get involved in helping New York become greener, said Greg Elliott, senior vice president of marketing partnerships, MSG Sports. T-Mobile has been a great partner of the Liberty for several years, and we look forward to activating this exciting new integrated platform this season.
Individual game tickets, beginning at $10, for Green nights and all Liberty games are on sale now by logging onto NYLiberty.com, visiting the Madison Square Garden Box Office or calling 877-WNBA-TIX.
T-Mobile's Mobilize initiative is devoted to making a positive impact on the environment. Mobile phones are made of precious metals, copper, and plastics all of which require energy to mine and manufacture. Recycling not only conserves these materials, but helps prevent air and water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Recycling a mobile phone is an easy way to make a big difference and all device makes and models are accepted for recycling.
