The Mercury Win Title In Detroit
2007 Finals M.V.P. Cappie Pondexter helped Phoenix win its first WNBA championship. She averaged 22.0 ppg and 5.6 apg in the Finals against the defending champs, the Detroit Shock. With each team winning one game at home and one game on the road, the series came down to a decisive Game 5 in Detroit. Phoenix became the first team to win a title on the road, defeating the Shock 108-92.
