UNCASVILLE, Conn., July 6 (Ticker) -- Nykesha Sales' clutch play in overtime kept alive the Connecticut Sun's winning streak.

Sales tied the game with a 3-pointer and made a basket at the buzzer to give the Sun their sixth straight victory, 79-77 over the Indiana Fever.

Sales scored 21 points, Taj McWilliams-Franklin added 20 and Lindsay Whalen chipped in 16 and 10 assists for the Sun (10-7), who took sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference.

Connecticut trailed, 77-74, before Sales nailed a shot from the arc with 36 seconds left in the extra period. After Indiana's Kelly Miller missed a jumper with 10 seconds to go, the Fever's Natalie Williams committed a loose ball foul and the Sun called a timeout.

Whalen worked the ball to Sales, who made a jumper from the left side to end the it.

Tamika Catchings led all scorers with 24 points, Miller had 20 and Williams added 16 and 15 rebounds for the Fever (9-8), who squandered an 11-point lead in the final five minutes of regulation.

Whalen's layup with eight seconds left in the second half tied it, 70-70, but she missed a free throw. Catchings was off with a jumper just before the buzzer, sending the game to overtime.
