Iziane Castro Marques (right) of the Atlanta Dream was given a golden opportunity on Sunday, stepping into the starting lineup in place of fellow Brazilian Erika de Souza, and the Atlanta Dream struck paydirt as a result, recording a 94-77 victory over the Indiana Fever, sparked by Castro Marques' season-high 30-point outburst.
With de Souza away on National Team duty, Castro Marques shined at the Philips Arena in Atlanta and the Dream knotted the Eastern Conference Finals at 1-1, forcing a decisive Game 3 in Indiana on Tuesday night.
"I was just very focused today," said Castro Marques. "I knew the importance to step into the lineup. Once I made a couple of shots, I kept going. I thought 'This is my night.'"
