Indiana Fever guard and former Purdue star Stephanie White underwent successful surgery Friday to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a torn lateral meniscus in her left knee. The surgery was performed by Fever team orthopedist, Dr. Scott A. Lintner, at the Orthopedics Indianapolis Surgery Center.

Stephanies ACL reconstruction went quite well, said Lintner. I anticipate a full recovery and return to all activities once she completes her rehabilitation.

White will continue her offseason rehabilitation program and physical therapy under the supervision of Fever trainer Holly Heitzman-Allison.

Whites injury was diagnosed on Aug. 25, two days after she injured the knee during the Fevers win vs. New York at Madison Square Garden. Whites knee buckled with 4:02 to play in the game and she did not return to action.

White, a four-year WNBA veteran who completed her third season with the Fever, ended the 2003 campaign as the Fevers third-leading scorer averaging 6.9 points per game. She was second in the WNBA with a Fever franchise-record shooting 93.7 percent from the free throw line. She was fourth on the team with 58 assists.
