Photographic Memory: Phoenix’s Adrian Williams

WNBA.com's "Photographic Memory" asks players to look at a photo of themselves and talk about what it captures -- what was going through their mind at that moment of the game and what the photo reveals about their style. Here, Phoenix's Adrian Williams talks about the 2003 season and what it was like when Coach Shumate told her to focus more on offense as opposed to past years when Williams had focused more on defense and rebounding.

When I See This Image ...
"I think aggressive."

Shumate Says Shoot
"What better moment than for someone to come in and say, "You have the green light. Shoot the ball. We need you to shoot the ball." That's like, "Really? O.K." That's what we all want to do as WNBA players. So when I look at this picture I just think of me being aggressive and being able to take off some of the limits I've had in the past and just go and play my game."

My Favorite Shot To Take ...
"I like the elbow shot."

When Do I Know It's Going In?
"The bad thing is this year my shot's been looking pretty good, so I keep thinking it's going in so I dont go and follow my shot. So every shot I put up, I think is going in, but I guess the only time I know it's going in is when it goes through."

* Williams averaged a career-high 9.8 points per game in 2003, earning her first All-Star appearance.
