Nikki McCray Gives Assist at Women's Sports Foundation's Scholar Sportswoman Awards Reception

WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 5 -- The Indiana Fever's Nikki McCray handed out an assist at the Women's Sports Foundation's Scholar Sportswoman Awards Reception Tuesday evening at Trinity College in Washington, D.C. as she presented awards to the Scholar Sportswoman Award Winners and recognized the Washington Community Action Program Coaches of the Year, Teams of the Year and Sportswomen of the Year.

Nine other inspirational athletes joined in the festivities including Julie Foudy (captain of the US national women's soccer team and member of the WUSA's San Diego Spirit), Donna de Varona (two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and Emmy Award-winning broadcaster), Dominique Dawes (three-time Olympic gymnast), and Lillian Greene-Chamberlain, Ph.D. (first US national champion in the 800 meter and 1959 Pan American Games Gold Medalist in the 400 meter).

McCray will also take part in National Girls & Women In Sports Day activities in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, February 5th along with WNBA President Val Ackerman and the Washington Mystics' Stacey Dales-Schuman. The trio will speak to members of Congress in support of Title IX and attend the Flo Hyman Award luncheon on Capitol Hill.
