Despite a second-half rally, the WNBA Select team fell 72-68 Sunday to host Samara of Russia in the championship game of the FIBA Women's World Cup 2003. Nikki Teasley scored 21 points and Cheryl Ford added 15 for the WNBA. The day's top individual performance came from WNBA MVP Lauren Jackson, whose 46 points, 17 boards and three blocks led Canberra to a 74-63 win over Wooribank of Korea. Read on for a rull roundup.

The members of the WNBA Select team will face WNBA stars and in-season teammates galore during the FIBA World Cup 2003 this week in Samara, Russia.
WNBA.com caught up with the players preparing for the World Cup to find out what exotic lands they have traveled to as basketball players and where they would most like to go next.
As they gathered in New York to prepare for the World Cup, Ruth Riley, Kara Lawson and other members of the �WNBA Select� team answered questions from the fans in the FIBA World Cup mailbox.
