WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Tamika Catchings Tops 2005 WNBA All-Defensive Team Selections
Rounding out the First Team are Sacramento center Yolanda Griffith (17 points), Indiana guard Tully Bevilaqua (16 points) and Connecticut guard Katie Douglas (13 points).
The WNBA All-Defensive Second Team consists of Los Angeles center Lisa Leslie (12 points), Washington guard Alana Beard (11 points), Detroit guard Deanna Nolan (10 points), Seattle forward Lauren Jackson (8 points) and Connecticut forward Taj McWilliams-Franklin (7 points).
The voting panel consisted of the WNBA�s 13 head coaches, who selected WNBA All-Defensive First and Second Teams by position. Coaches were not permitted to vote for players from their own team. Two points were awarded for a First Team vote and one point was awarded for a Second Team vote.
