TIME OUT WITH... Erin Phillips
A native of Australia, Erin Phillips has been busy exploring the United States this season while playing point guard for the Connecticut Sun. However when it comes to sports, Phillips still has a lot of passion for the version of football played Down Under. Find out more about this rookie sensation in this edition of Time Out.
Favorite U.S. city to visit? Seattle and Chicago are tied.
Favorite place to visit anywhere in the world? Port Lincoln in South Australia, it's a family favorite.
Favorite sport other than basketball to play or watch? Australian rules football.
Favorite pro athlete? Ivan Maric (my boyfriend), who plays Australian Rules Football for Adelaide Crows.
Who is your favorite WNBA player? Taj McWilliams-Franklin. Her attitude and professionalism are inspiring. The way she leaves everything off the court except for basketball is inspiring.
If you had to live in one place in the world all year long? Adelaide.
Most influential role model? My father Greg, who played Australian Rules Football for Collingwood and the Port Adelaide Mag Pies.
What accomplishment are you most proud of? Becoming an aunt.
What languages can you speak? A little bit of Japanese.
How many brothers and sisters do you have, and what are their names? Two sisters, Rachel and Amy.
Last book you read? The True Adventures of Hansel and Gretel.
Favorite movie? Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2.
Favorite actor or actress? Johnny Depp.
Favorite song of all time? Under The Bridge by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Favorite TV show? Friends.
Favorite artist or type of music? Green Day and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
Dream car to own and drive? Corvette Stingray from the 1970s.
What do you miss most about home? My Sunday night family tradition. We have a barbecue and quiz night.
Most unusual job? Cleaning planes for Quantas.
What is your favorite food? Mom's cooking, and sushi.
What do you like to do to unwind after a game? Hang out with the family or friends, and have some good food.
