On the Road With...
Indiana’s Tamika Whitmore
Q. What are some countries you've gotten to travel to for
basketball or personal reasons?
Whitmore: "I’ve been to Israel, Korea, Taiwan, France, Spain,
I played in Spain for three years, I really liked it there, and it’s more
Americanized than any other country I’ve been to. This year I had the opportunity

Q. What is one place you haven't been that you would like
to see?
Whitmore: "Cancun, I’d love to get down there because I haven’t
had a vacation in seven years."
Q. What is your favorite place to go on vacation?
Whitmore: "Haven’t had one, actually my sister lives in Hawaii,
so I’m planning to visit there soon to see my nieces and nephews who I
haven’t seen in about two years."
Q. What are your favorite WNBA cities to visit?
Whitmore: "I like to visit the two main cities that I’ve
played in, New York and L.A., just there’s stuff to do, LA has the great
weather, New York has I guess the hustle and bustle, and there’s always
something to do."
Q. What is the best WNBA city to go out shopping
Whitmore: "New York has more variety, but I also think Seattle
has a nice shopping district.".
Q. What is the best WNBA city to dine out?
Whitmore: "New York, it’s just the variety of restaurants
that they have and the variety of food and culture, so you get to experience
just about anything you want."
Q. What are the best places to shop and dine out in your
city - neighborhoods, specifically?
Whitmore: "Well we have that mall downtown, we have a variety
of stuff to choose from, a couple of malls, we have one mall in particular,
that’s shall we say, bourgeoisie, and I don’t think I make enough
money to afford to shop their."
Q. Cars?
Whitmore: "Mainly cars period, racing, fixing them, restorations,
whatever, actually I did get an opportunity to visit the Indianapolis 500, I
didn’t get to go to the race because we had practice, but I got to see
the cars. I wanted to meet Danica Patrick, but I heard she isn’t really
a big sports fan, she’s mainly into racing, but I wish her all the best
because she’s a woman in a man’s world."
