“She said that I’d won a trip to New York and I’m thinking, ‘Oh, it’s probably a time share stupid thing,'" said Crisp. "It’s just unbelievable, you just think ‘No way.’”
But, way.
Crisp, a resident of West Jordan, Utah, was the lucky winner of the WNBA Bud Light Charity Stripe Sweepstakes and she and her guest, Tauni Sutherland, were on their way to New York for a three-day, two-night trip that culminated with tickets to watch the WNBA vs. USA Basketball Game at Radio City on Thursday.
"It’s amazing," said Crisp of her first WNBA game. "I never imagined it would be this exciting."
A big fan of the Jazz and former Utah star John Stockton, Crisp quickly selected Cheryl Ford as her favorite WNBA player.
And while it may have been their first WNBA game, it was the second trip to the Big Apple for Crisp and Sutherland, and they took full advantage of some of the city's attractions.
“We visited the Statue of Liberty, which was really exciting because it just reopened," said Crisp. "And we went to the Lion King last night and Planet Hollywood for lunch. So, we’ve been busy and we’re going to go to Central Park tomorrow.”
And while she may have hesitated when she was first told that she had won, there was no pause when she was asked how this prize measured up.
"This is the best."
