How She Joined The Sun: The former University of Virginia All American was traded to the franchise when it was still based in Orlando, joining the team in a swap that sent Elaine Powell to the Detroit Shock on July 8, 2002.

Sun Career: Wendy played two seasons in Connecticut, providing a veteran spark off the bench. She averaged nine points and 5.5 rebounds off the bench during the 2004 season that ended with a trip to the WNBA Finals.

After Connecticut: Wendy went to the San Antonio Silver Stars in free agency following the 2004 season, and then finished her career with the Seattle Storm. She was still playing in Seattle when she took her first coaching position at Virginia Commonwealth. She went on to work as an assistant coach at Kentucky, then became an assistant under her former college coach Deb Ryan, at Virginia. In 2011, Wendy became the head women’s coach at UNC-Greensboro.
