Sun Sign Sydney Carter To Seven Day Contract

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (August 23, 2013) The Connecticut Sun announced today that it has signed Sydney Carter to a seven-day contract.

Carter returns to the Sun as a replacement player under the emergency hardship clause after injuries sidelined Kelly Faris (left foot) and Allison Hightower (strained right knee). She will join the team on Saturday and is expected to be in uniform when the Sun face New York on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The 5-foot-6 guard was first signed as a replacement player on June 11th under the emergency hardship clause after injuries to Renee Montgomery and Tan White. She was waived on July 16th after seeing action in six games with the Sun. She averaged 4.5 points, 2.8 assists and 1.7 rebounds in those games, including seven points, eight assists and five rebounds in the win over Tulsa on July 2nd.

Connecticut will be in action next on Sunday at Mohegan Sun Arena against the New York Liberty at 5 p.m.
