Sun Overseas Report - Week Two

Keep track of Where In The World...The Sun Are Playing this offseason.

Members of the Connecticut Sun are in the midst of playing for their overseas teams in a variety of countries.

In Russia, Anete Jekabsone-Zogota had 10 points, one rebound and five assists as Spartak Moscow Region defeated Dynamo Kursk 102-65 on Oct. 18th. Two days later, she scored 16 points in a 92-59 victory against Galatasaray of Turkey.

Also in the Russian Superleague, Sandrine Gruda scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds while Asjha Jones added seven points, three rebounds and two blocks as UMMC Ekaterinburg defeated Spartak St. Petersburg 109-69 on Oct. 19th.

After spending some time with USA Basketball, Sun point guard Lindsay Whalen returned to her offseason team in the Czech Republic last week. On Oct. 17th, Whalen had four points, one rebound, three assists and two steals in a 91-51 win over Czech Coal Aldast Strakonice. She followed that up with 10 points, four rebounds and one assist on Oct. 20th as USK Prague defeated Slovanka MB 116-71.

In Spanish League action, Kerri Gardin had eight points on 4-of-8 shooting, four rebounds and two assists for Cadi La Seu in a 72-71 win over Congress Palace Ibiza on Oct. 17th.

Sun guard Erin Phillips scored nine points and dished out three assists on Oct. 17th as Lotos Gdynia defeated INEA AZS Poznan, 80-59.
