Sun Add Jessica Moore To Roster

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (June 3, 2011) The Connecticut Sun announced it has made a late change to its roster, signing free agent center Jessica Moore to the team on Friday evening.

To make room on the 11-player roster, the Sun cut veteran Kerri Gardin.

A former UConn star who was drafted by the Charlotte Sting with the 24th overall pick in the second round of the 2005 WNBA Draft, the 6-foot-3 Moore has played six seasons with Charlotte, Los Angeles and Indiana. Moore helped UConn win National Championships in 2002, 2003 and 2004 while averaging 8.4 points and 5.8 rebounds during her college career.

Moore, who was waived by the Indiana Fever on Wednesday, will be in uniform Saturday night when the Sun open the 2011 season against the Washington Mystics at Mohegan Sun Arena.
