WXLM to Broadcast Sun Games

UNCASVILLE, CT. (March 31, 2006) — The Connecticut Sun has reached an agreement with WXLM radio in New London (102.3 FM) to broadcast all of the team’s games during the 2006 season.

“We’re excited to be working with WXLM,” Connecticut Sun General Manager Chris Sienko said. “Our goal each season is to broaden our reach and bring our game to more fans. This partnership will help us do that.”

WXLM is a 3,000 watt station owned by Citadel Broadcasting. Bob Heussler returns for his fourth season handling play-by-play duties for all Sun games.

“This is a win-win situation,” said Bonnie Gomes, General Manager of Citadel Broadcasting in New London. “The recent changes on WXLM, with a live local morning show, and now the excitement of airing the Connecticut Sun, will bring our listeners tremendous entertainment all week long.”
