

It’s been a busy week for Sun players in Denver!! In town for the NBA All-Star game, Connecticut Sun players Nykesha Sales and Lindsay Whalen have spent the week participating in NBA/ WNBA events in and around the city. On Tuesday, Nykesha and Lindsay helped unveil a new basketball court at the Boettcher Boys and Girls Club in Aurora, Colo. After the ceremony, the players, along with former Denver Nuggets players Lafayette “Fat” Lever and Mark Randall, christened the new court by leading more than 50 local youths through various stretching and shooting exercises.
On Wednesday, Nykesha, Lindsay and several other WNBA players took part in the WNBA Mind. Body. Spirit. Event at Girls Incorporated in Denver. The event aimed to teach young girls the importance of staying physically fit and maintaining a healthy diet. The players also taught the girls strength building exercises and ran through some basketball-related drills. Afterwards, the players signed autographs for the young fans.
Nykesha also found time on Wednesday to participate in the NBA/ WNBA Wheelchair Clinic at the Gold Crown Fieldhouse in Lakewood, Colo. Along with WNBA legend Lynette Woodard and Denver Nuggets legend Fat Lever, Nykesha signed autographs and posed for pictures with the participants and the members of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association All-Stars.
