Kristen Rasmussen Says "Hola" from Spain

Checking in from Ibiza (an island off the eastern coast of Spain). What a wonderful place this is! If you haven't been here, you should definitely visit! This time of year is perfect! The sun is always shining, beautiful places to see and of course the sea is right outside our door...can't get much better than that!

Not only is the island a good place to live, but it is also a nice place to play basketball. My team here is great, and I am really enjoying my time here. I have two teammates that play in the WNBA -- Sancho Lyttle (Houston Comets) and Shona Thorburn (Minnesota Lynx/Seattle Storm). Both players are wonderful on and off the court! For Thanksgiving, we cooked up a huge feast and ate the entire night. We're always getting together to eat, laugh and watch American TV shows. I am lucky to have them both on my team.

Outside of practice, games and travel, most of my time is spent with our newest family member, Kalea. Jamie, my husband, was out running one day and found the cutest puppy, standing in the road. The puppy was only two months old and was homeless. He brought the puppy home, we named her, trained her and now can't wait for her to meet her brothers and sister in Connecticut (our other three dogs)!!! My Dad told me he thinks I should open an animal shelter when I am done playing! He is probably right! :)

We aren't sure what she is a mix of, but we have heard a lot of different things from the locals here. Do you have any ideas?? Whatever she is, she is absolutely adorable, and we are having a good time with her.

All in all, things here in Ibiza are excellent. It is nice to be in a great place, both during the WNBA season and in the off-season. Not many players get that luxury!!

This year, our Christmas will definitely be a different one. I can't wait to tell you all about it!! So, until next time, from my family to yours, we hope you have a wonderful Holiday Season and enjoy yourself where ever you may be.
