The Connecticut Sun tipped off the 2006 high school girls’ basketball “JAMM” Tour on Monday, Jan. 30th when Old Saybrook hosted Morgan of Clinton.
Before the game, point guard Lindsay Whalen met with both teams, answering questions from the players and signing autographs during a meet-and-greet session. Lindsay spoke about her own high school experiences, and also talked about the importance of working hard during each off-season to address weaknesses and improve strengths.
Each team was presented with a framed team photo, and all of the players from both teams also received t-shirts.
At halftime, Lindsay and local radio personality “Miss. L.” from Jammin’ 107.7 FM, addressed the crowd and gave away raffle prizes, including Sun tickets, an autographed basketball and autographed photos. Sun t-shirts were also tossed into the stands.
For the second stop on the "JAMM" Tour the Sun visited Bacon Academy in Colchester as the Bobcats took on the Griswold High School Wolverines on Feb. 3rd.
