Aussies Win Gold
The Australian Opals were the victors at the FIBA World Championship in Brazil. Sun players Erin Phillips and Laura Summerton were amoung the ecstatic Aussies to take home gold medals. The Opals defeated the team from Russia in the gold medal match.

USA Takes Bronze
Sun Head Coach Mike Thibault, as an assistant coach for Team USA, helped the US to win a bronze medal. Team USA defeated the host nation, Brazil, in the bronze medal match.
