

Sun guard Candace Futrell is making a run at another championship. After appearing in the WNBA Finals with the Sun last fall, Candace has spent the offseason putting up big numbers in the Europe Cup League. Recently, Candace’s team, Anda Ramat Hasharon, won the Israeli Cup. Candace scored 14 points in the 70-64 victory over Elizur Ramla. Chasity Melvin, of the Washington Mystics, had 20 points and 19 rebounds to win the MVP award. The victory marked the team’s 4th Israeli Cup in franchise history.
Candace’s team is also having success in the Europe Cup League Championships. In the first round of the playoffs, Candace had 33 points, 11 rebounds and 8 steals a two-game sweep of Szeviep. Anda Ramat Hasharon will now advance to the Final Four, where it will take on the host team, Phard Napoli Basket, beginning April 3rd in Naples, Italy.
During the regular season, Candace has averaged 15.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game to help lead her team into the Europe Cup Final Four.
