Debbie Black Diary

Black Black
Wow, I can't believe we are already well into the New Year. I am trying to stay warm in Philadelphia as we are having record low temperatures.

I am currently working for the Philadelphia 76ers. I started working on the 2nd of January. I have wanted to see how the other half works in a professional organization. I will be working until April and will work in four areas: game operations, (January), marketing (February), community relations (March), and public relations (April).

I am enjoying game operations. It's amazing to see how much work goes into preparing for a game. I have done three games to date. I would suggest every professional player should have to spend time during their offseason in the office so they can appreciate the work that is involved.

I am also working and working out with World B. Free, who is responsible for running clinics and community relations. For those of you who don't know him, he played for 13 NBA seasons and scored 17,955 points. I enjoyed shooting with him and who better to give you a scorer’s mentality than him? He is a great guy.

Other than that, I am staying in shape for the upcoming season. Aerobic training every day (running, biking or stairmaster), weights four times a week, and gym work (shooting and playing) three or four times a week. So needless to say I am keeping busy.

Last but not least, I am attending a lot of basketball games. My nephew Chris is enjoying a great senior year, and I try not to miss a game.

Stay Warm and Take Care
