Ask The Sun Week 8

I am curious about the music that is played when the team comes onto the floor. What is the name of that first song played when they come out for warm ups? Who chooses the music? GO SUN!!!

All that song....what is it called again? Of course I know...it is called "Halftime" by the Ying Yang Twins. Music is part of our game operations team, and they select music based upon the flow of the game.

Dear Chris, Why are there no CT. Sun Eastern Conference Champs shirts for sale at our arena? They have them on the WNBA site, but only go up to a XL size and there shipping and handling is an outrageous $11.99---For a T-shirt!!! We have collected all of the Sun's shirts--especially the Conference champs and playoff shirts.. Will the WNBA store in the Mohegan Sun have these, or will we not be able to buy any in our size? p.s. I love to watch you during the home games--I sit in section 113 row A --seats 10, 11 and 12--all 3 in orange BLAZE shirts!

We get our shirts directly from Reebok, and we only get a certain amount to start. We have ordered more, and I know for a fact that the Connecticut Sun Team store (in Winter Essentials near the Winter Entrance to the property)will have them starting in mid-October, if not before. I don't know what sizes will be in place, but I expect there will be larger ones available than just XL. Now, as for watching me, I hope you have noticed that I am well-behaved and even-tempered at all times (yeah right!). OK, let’s just call me passionate and expressive!

We now have 2 Eastern Conference championship banners. Is there a reason why they are not proudly displayed in the arena?

Actually, I have a question for you: Have you ever looked up? We had a banner-raising ceremony our first game of this season, and the banner has hung from the rafters ever since (it’s also hard to miss, about 12 feet by 8 feet). We will not raise our second banner until next year at our first regular season home game. Just so you know, we are also reserving space for a 2006 Championship banner!

Laura from Rocky Hill, CT writes:
No question. Just want to thank you all for a wonderful season! You all did great during the season. You all are an inspiration to young women every where! There is always next year! It is too bad that there won't be a rally for the ladies for getting as far as they did!

Thank you for the kind words, they are much appreciated. We are all proud of what we accomplished, but still a bit disappointed that we have not yet completed what we set out to do - win a championship. While having a rally is a great idea, there is little time to do so. All of our players were out of town within 48 hours of the last game to head to their oversea commitments. However, I can assure you that if and when we do win the Championship, they will all be around for whatever parties, rallies and festivities we can come up with!

Susan from Oakdale, CT writes:
Chris, Thanks for a great season! Wish it ended with a championship trophy but none the less, it was an exciting finish. I would like to thank all the staff for their attention to detail during all the home games. This extends from the ushers-Joe and Sue in section 24-to Ann Marie in marketing to all the people who put the season together, who we haven't met personally. We look forward to next season. Is there a way to extend best wishes to Katie on her marriage? Thanks again to all the players, coaches and staff for a wonderful 2005 season.

Well, thank you for taking the time to write us with your thoughts. I am fortunate to have a great staff, coaches, players and support from the arena folks. I will pass along your note, especially to those named. As for KT, we will be setting up a link for those of you who wish to write a quick email to her. For those of you who don't know, Ms. Douglas is getting married on 29 September in Greece.
