Is it possible to find a way to get the crowd more involved in games? It really frustrates me to no end that they'll stand up and cheer for a freakin' t-shirt but don't seem to get into "defense" or "let's go sun" ... especially when our players need the support!!
It helps when Blaze comes out with the sign ... and the new videos with Keesh are fun ... or the PA system plays something you can cheer along to. But sometimes the PA system just plays wierd stuff (like the "Jaws" warning ...)
Can the "Solar Power" team get the crowd more involved, or the new announcer guy? (BTW ... what happened to Scotty B? He was *awesome*!!!!)
I've been to games in other cities and I think we have the best mascot in the league!! Are there any plans to get Blaze involved in PR?
See you at the next home game! (o:=
We always want the fans to be 'in' the game....however, we can only do so much. We have the dancers, mascot, in-game host and exciting basketball - we need the rest of you to be loud on your own - can you pass the word along in the stands? As for Blaze, I am sure that you will see more and more of that fuzzy creature soon! Also, thanks for your commitment as a Sun season ticket holder!

Hey ya'll. I have been playing basketball all my life..my mom says I started going outside and trying to dribble a ball at the age of three. I have been a point guard all my life and I'm an honor roll student. I don't know what I would do if I couldnt play basketball. My question for u..
Is basketball still just having fun in the WNBA? Like in College, I know that it's really competitive..and that's what I live for. But is it strictly winning or is it have fun; do what u know how to do, and kick some butt? lol..thanks.
An interesting question - there is no doubt the WNBA is competitive. However, sports in general should be fun. Very few people have the opportunity to play a game as a living, so I think the athletes are very appreciative. But hey, you know like i know, you play to win. Our goal is to win championships. So if you want to win, you need to compete, and it will take every ounce of energy you have!

Is there anything the Sun organization can do to improve TV broadcasting of the games outside CT?
For example, Boston area with Fox sports net New England? Maybe NESN? I can't get enough of Lindsay Whalen. The webcast just isn't enough.
TV broadcasting is not a simple process. In year one, we were on Fox Sports New England - while it reached many homes in MA, NH, VT and CT, most were outside of Connecticut. In year two and three, we switched over to FOX61 and WB20 because it is on every single cable system in our state - where a majority of our fans are. Before we reach out to areas that do not support us, we feel it is best to give as much to our local passionate fans as possible, and branch out slowly. Fortunately, we have been on national television about 15 times in the last two seasons, so folks outside our area do get to see us play.
Dawn from Newton, MA asks:
Does the Mohegan Sun or the WNBA control the officiating? Sometimes it seems that the officials just can't keep up.If the WNBA controls the officials, who would I contact about that?
Thanks Chris.
All officiating is controlled by the WNBA. That is about all I can say on that subject without setting myself up for a fine.
Richard from Ledyard, CT asks:
Is there going to be a "fan appreciation" or "meet the players" night/day this year? My wife and I are avid fans and don't miss a game.
There will be a 'fan appreciation night' again this year. it is always our last home game of the season. Tell your family and friends. This year it is a Friday night, 26 August and once again, free tee-shirts for everyone! See you there!

I live in Minnesota so I don't get out to games very often in Connecticut but am a huge Sun fan. I saw the Sun play here in Minnesota and have been to a couple of other WNBA games and always am upset to see the number of fans. Do you think the number of fans is increasing? How do you think the WNBA can get even more fans? Good luck to the Sun for the rest of the season!!
I know attendance has been increasing year-over-year. In fact, our attendance in year 9 is equal to the attendance the NBA had in its 25th year. So, if you compare apples to apples, we are ahead of the curve. The best way to increase attendance and awareness is to tell a friend, and have them tell a friend, and then come to a game. As you know, it is fun, competitive and a great sport to watch! Thanks for following us from Minnesota!
Chris from West Haven, CT asks:
Why isn't there access to the box office inside the arena. There are times that I would like to buy tickets for a game, and I don't want to wait in line after the game, but if people can go before the game starts or during halftime, we wouldn't have to wait until after the game. GO SUN!!
The arena was designed and built long before a professional sports team was even considered for Mohegan Sun. While I agree that access may be easier from within the arena, right now it is not set up to do this. However, there have been previous internal conversations about this subject and it should be brought up again in the off season.
George from Ledyard, CT asks
Is there any chance that more of the merchandise sold at the arena could eventually make it to an online sales site, as the WNBA one is woefully insufficient for team paraphernalia.
Ahhh...merchandise again! Yes, we are working with the league to get more product online as well as in retail stores in cities around the state. Be patient and hopefully we will have a greater selection in the not too distant future!
Jenny from Southern, MN asks:
Did the team change in anyway when they found out Debbie Black retired?
Debbie Black was a great leader on this team. Passion, dedication - a great teacher. When you lose someone with spirit and motivation like Debbie, things do change. However, sports teams need to adjust with the pieces that remain and we did. Fortunately, she left a lasting impression with Lindsay and other players, and we still continue to have that 'never give up' mentality. Also, we will be honoring Debbie Black on 14 August. Come on out and say thank you for all she contributed - it will be a fun day!
