I was wondering if you had to register to be in the poster contests at the games?

Not at all.....you can go up to the concourse and make your banner - or bring one in. A representative from Jamin' 107.7 picks a poster at random to be that game's winner. However, I would guess that the more posters you make at the table, the better your chances. Any "I Love the G.M." banners would be a nice start!

Sharon from Philadelphia, PA
Why hasn’t Kamesha Hairston been playing?

Kamesha is a great talent. That said, she is also a rookie with some very senior players ahead of her on the depth chart. Evana Maltsi who brought in is also a rookie, but at 28, has played professionally overseas almost 10 years. Experience is key, so are match-ups. You will see more of Kamesha in the future, but time will be based on match-ups and available minutes.

I saw that college students can do an internship for the Suns for a semester. Are you still doing it? It sounds like fun & I'm interested in doing it summer 08 when it'll be my senior year at college.

Yes, you are correct that we do have a program - with lots of students applying and interviewing. It is not a random drawing - we are looking for talented kids, more than likely focused on a degree in Sports Management, or have a skill set in which we think we can use around the office. We have interns in the office around the year - fall, spring and summer. So, if you are interested, send off a resume and see what happens. For an extra push, see suggested banner idea in question one!

Hi Mr. Sienko! I'm a huge fan of your team, mainly because of the draft of Lindsay Whalen 4 years ago. I was wondering 4 years ago when you were looking for your potential picks, what made you want to draft Lindsay. She is a great part of your team and it is a joy watching her and the team play! Thanks again.

Hi Lauren! First, let me say thank you for the note and following our team all the way from Minnesota (remind me to pass this on to the Lynx). Lindsay was in our sights when she was a junior in college and Coach Thibault saw her play. From that point forward, we followed and tracked her progress and assessed her ability. When draft day came, we ensured we were in a position to draft her via a trade with San Antonio (trading Shannon Johnson). Contrary to what has been written out there in Minnesota, we never asked for, nor did the Lynx offer, multiple players in exchange for Lindsay. She has fit in perfectly, and has led this team to three consecutive Eastern Conference Finals and two WNBA Finals appearances. I guess that would mean Lindsay has been deemed a "good catch!"

Are you considering making a big off-season trade this winter? If so, do you have any idea what your looking for?

OK, Kyle, you really don't think in a public forum I can tell you if I will be making a trade and what it might involve, did you? Let me put it this way, we are always open to discussion, and will do anything that help increase our chances of winning a WNBA Championship. However, i may trade my Community Relations person for two interns...we'll see....

Hey, as GM do you get to talk to any of the players? And is there any favorite player of yours on the sun? Good Luck!

Well Sophia from Rutland, VT. I talk to all of the players all of the time. They are a very fun group and have a lot to say! Some are joksters (KT, Lindsay), some are quiet (Kamesha, Cori, Jamie), but all are just like your best friends - sincere, and watching each others back. Do I have favorites? Hmmm...it depends if you ask me after our next win or our next loss!

Angela from Mystic, CT
I wasn’t sure, how do we enter the various contests the go on during the game? How do we get someone’s birthday announced on the PA?

Most 'on-court' contests are picked at random. Some are a benefit of purchasing a large group of tickets. PA announcements for birthday's, anniversaries, etc. can be made for a small fee, the money of which is put into the Connecticut Sun Foundation, our not-for-profit that helps giving needing students college scholarships.

Laura from Rocky Hill, CT
What happened to “Red” the announcer?

Big Red gave us the news in the off-season that he would be moving on to greener pastures. Since that time, we have all been a little blue.
