NBA D-LEAGUE WNBA FANTASY NBA TV STORE TICKETS HELP

Sun General Manager Chris Sienko is here to answer your questions. Is there something about the team that you've just been dying to know? Ask Chris!

Fred from Trumbull, CT
When do the single tickets for the Phoenix Mercury (6-29-08) game go on sale?

Fred, individual tickets go on sale 10 April at 10 AM. However, if you buy SEASON tickets, you can guarantee yourself of the best possible seating for that game...get great benefits, a coupon booklet to discounts at restaurants, concessions and merchandise. Of course mini plans are available too, and then those single tickets you want....I think the deal of the century is the season tickets - did i mention them yet?

Liz from Bloomfield, CT
At the start of the game who chooses which team the possession arrow favors and why?

Liz, there is no 'possession arrow' in the WNBA - we have jump balls. However, the start of each quarter is determined by whomever wins the opening tip. So, if the Sun wins the opening tip, in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, the visiting team gets the ball to inbound, and the 4th quarter is back to the Sun to inbound. All overtime periods will start with a jump ball.

George from Groton, CT
I wonder what the chances are of getting the women’s Big East tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena? It would be a great venue!

Hi George! The Big East here at Mohegan Sun sounds good to me! I think that this venue is conducive to the games, especially ones that do not feature UConn; but with more and more power in the Big East (Rutgers, Syracuse, Louisville, etc.)more and more fans will come and be able to partake in restaurants, shops, hotel (not to mention over 13,000 FREE parking spaces) and the entire "Mystic Country" area. Please forward this response directly to the Big East offices and we will begin negotiations immediately!

1. As a purchaser of 2 season tickets, when can I expect to receive my tickets? 2. Barbara Turner and Tamika (Williams) Raymond are excellent additions, and it certainly pleases this fan that they are UConn grads. How about signing Svet, even though her commitment to play for the Russian Olympic team means she would be available to play only after the Olympics? Svet is healthier than at any time since she joined the WNBA. Her offensive and defensive skills have been polished to an all-Pro level, even while appreciation from Lynx management and her minutes of play have declined. She would be an excellent replacement for Katie Douglas. 3. How about inviting Wilnett Crockett to training camp? Her strong inside play, especially rebounding, could add needed depth behind Tamika Whitmore and Tamika Raymond. Asjha is a solid 2-way post player, long, agile, and strong, but rebounding has never been her strongest suit.

Bill, you seem very knowledgeable in all things UConn! Once I have all the former UConn stars here, should we play only Tennessee? OK, I am teasing - lets get to the answers: Season tickets will arrive to you in the last week of April. First preseason game is 4 May, so you will be ready-to-go before that time.

Barbara Turner is in good shape and ready for her try out. She still has to make the team - there are no guarantees. Tamika is a signed player and has a roster spot. Just like your example of Svet, Tamika was under used and pushed aside in the Lynx program. That is not a dig at Minnesota, but rather, the direction they took the team. We feel that Tamika will be a good fit here for our style and the trade will pay dividends for both teams.

Svet currently is not considering any opportunities from any teams until the Olympics are over. However, Bill, if you want to go to China and have some conversations on our behalf, that would be great. Of course, that is assuming you can fit her under the salary cap and we have a roster spot open at that time...and Willnett, well, she signed a training camp contract with Phoenix, so we wish her all the best.

I also think you should consider the young ladies that are available in the draft...while there is certainly some great UConn talent out there, there are some tremendously talented kids coming out of college this year that will be a great compliment to our team.

Alan from Bloomfield, CT
Will the SUN practice at St Joseph’s college or CCSU so that we can get a chance to meet the new recruits? Is there a chance of expanding these casual practice sessions? We love them, as they are small intimate venues for us and a nice change of pace from the crowded arena. Thanks

Alan, we do plan on practicing at St. Joseph's again this year. Bill Cardarelli who is the Athletic Director there has always been very good to us in letting us bring the team to West Hartford. We love the small, intimate gym and the opportunity to interact with you, the fans. However, it is hard with our schedule and other commitments to do more than one of these practices off-site each year. We look forwarding to seeing you in May, the date has yet to be announced.

Elyssa/Rachel from West Haven, CT
My daughters favorite player has been Erin Phillips, last year she was out due to injury; however, I see her on the player profiles this year. Is Erin playing for the Sun in 08?

Elyssa and Rachel - Erin Phillips has made quite an impact with the Sun fans in her one season with the team. Currently in Australia, she has been playing well and just won a championship with the Lightning. Currently, she is preparing to play for Australia in the Olympics this summer, but the good news is, Erin will be here after that, and will finish out the season and all play-off games with the Sun. So, if all goes well, she will come to the States with a silver medal (sorry, USA = gold) and be causing problems for other teams starting on 28 August in Indiana!
