


In his fifth season as President of the Connecticut Sun, Paul Munick manages all aspects of the administrative and basketball operations for the franchise.
Munick is also the Senior Vice President of Sports and Entertainment for Mohegan Sun, overseeing all business operations for its three entertainment venues: Mohegan Sun Arena, Cabaret Theatre and Wolf Den. He also supervises the property's Advertising and Public Relations departments as well as the Sponsorship and Regional Marketing departments.
During his tenure, Munick has been instrumental in bringing world class sporting events to the Mohegan Sun Arena, including championship boxing, college and professional men’s and women’s basketball, Davis Cup tennis, professional bull riding and professional bowling. He has also secured world-renowned performers such as Jimmy Buffet, Tim McGraw, James Taylor, Cher, David Bowie, Bon Jovi, Phil Collins, Shania Twain, Janet Jackson, Aerosmith, Rod Stewart, Justin Timberlake, Bob Seger and others to perform in Connecticut’s premier entertainment venue. Industry publications recognized Mohegan Sun Arena with lofty year-end rankings for 2006. Internationally, the facility was No. 5 on the Billboard chart and No. 13 on the Pollstar chart.
Prior to joining Mohegan Sun, Munick served as vice president of athletics and entertainment at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In this role, he was involved in the development and expansion of all business initiatives, including contract negotiations, operations, marketing, sponsorship and television.
Munick was responsible for a wide variety of national events at Madison Square Garden, such as the Goodwill Games, NFL Draft, Millrose Track & Field Championships, Big East Championship and Women’s Tennis Associations’ Chase Championships (formerly the Virginia Slims Championships), where he served as tournament director. He also managed the Garden's family entertainment offerings and in 1995, re-established the professional boxing program.
Munick holds a master’s degree in sports administration from Ohio University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Stony Brook University.
A native New Yorker, he currently resides in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey with his wife and two children.
