Jones To Miss Two Weeks

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (August 17, 2009) — Due to recurring soreness in her left Achilles tendon, Connecticut Sun forward Asjha Jones will not participate in basketball activities for two weeks.

Jones, who is averaging a team-high 16.7 points per game, will continue therapy and to rest the tendon.

An All-Star for the second time in 2009, Jones was named WNBA Player of the Week from July 20-26. Last week, her franchise record streak of consecutive double figure games ended at 18 on August 13th against Seattle. Jones has reached double figures in 21 of 23 games this season and already has three double-doubles, her best single-season total.
