Hello Sun Fans!

It is hard to believe, but we are already a month out of the season - which means we are one month closer to the start of next season (yea!).

My objective is to write occasionally and give you an update on what is happening behind the scenes with the team, staff and coaches. However, before I go any further, I should congratulate the Mercury and the Fever for a great, high-scoring, and entertaining final! I believe it was a great showcase for our fans and our game, and hopefully, created new interest around the nation!

I must confess, however, that it was certainly a different feeling watching the playoffs rather than participating in them. We have been spoiled with six straight postseason appearances and two trips to the finals. But, the truth is, we were not good enough this year, plain and simple. We can make excuses due to injuries, but we did not play consistently. Every team is faced with the same challenges. The bottom line is that we need to improve in many areas, so that we will get back into the playoffs and closer to a championship.

The good news out of a bad season is that we will be in the draft lottery for the first time as a franchise. It will be interesting to see how the balls bounce and if we receive a high or low pick, which could truly shape our future. This year's senior class is not particularly strong, but there are some marquee players who would definitely help this organization. That said, we have to start looking at offers that come in, or that we initiate, for trades and other signings. Ultimately, we need to do what is best to help the team get back to the premier status we have enjoyed for so long, and that you as a fan deserve.

Interest is picking up around the idea of a team in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and questions abound. Will it be an expansion franchise, or will a current team relocate? The suspense is killing me! I have a hunch that by the next time I write, we will all know the answer to that question!

Our players are out and about playing overseas. Asjha and Lindsay had invitations to practice and participate with the National team. Asjha was able to do so, though Lindsay could only watch due to an eye injury she suffered in the last game of the season. To find out more about what they are up to and how they are doing, we will keep you up to speed with our feature Where In The World....

I would also like to thank those of you who have renewed season tickets, and for those of you who might be considering. We have changed our benefits somewhat and created a lot of new opportunities as our way of saying "thank you". As they say, membership has its privileges! We certainly appreciate the support and know that we have very loyal fans. For the sixth year in a row we have not increased ticket prices - I don't think you can say that about any other item you pay for in your day-to-day life!

So take advantage. Tell your friends and family. The Sun season is right around the corner with tip off due to start in mid-May!

My best,
