Connecticut Adds van Grinsven To Camp Roster

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (April 19, 2013) – The Connecticut Sun announced today it has signed Saint Joseph’s forward Chatilla van Grinsven to a training camp contract.

As per team policy, terms were not released.

A native of the Netherlands, the 6-foot-3 van Grinsven averaged 14.9 points and 10.4 rebounds per game in her lone season with the Hawks after transferring from Colorado State following her junior season. An A-10 All-Conference First Team selection, the forward recorded 16 double-doubles as a senior for Saint Joseph’s while leading the team in scoring 19 times and rebounding 26 times.

A member of the Dutch national team since 2006, van Grinsven represented her country at the 2011 FIBA U-20 European Championships. There, she led all players with five double-doubles and also ranked second in field goal attempts per game (12.5) and third in rebounds per game (11.6).
