It was a beautiful spring morning, the perfect day for a walk in the park. Over 100 people turned out for a “Walk for Inclusion” hosted by the Best Buddies program and the Bubel/Aiken Foundation at Mohegan Park in Norwich. The event was held to help raise money and awareness for these two programs, whose shared goal is providing opportunities for one-to-one friendships between mentally disabled children and their schoolmates. The Bubel/Aiken Foundation was founded in part by American Idol star Clay Aiken.
The Connecticut Sun helped to sponsor the walk, including tickets to a Sun game with registration. Sun staffers and Sun forward Le’Coe Willingham was on hand to participate and sign autographs.
Participants came from as far away as Miami and included some Sun fans.
