On Wednesday, August 20th, the Connecticut Sun Foundation held its inaugural golf tournament at the Mohegan Sun Country Club at Pautipaug in Baltic. All net proceeds of the event, which exceeded $15,000, benefitted the Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the lives of Connecticut's youth by supporting athletic and educational endeavors.
Twenty-three foursomes participated in the event, which was a scramble format. Sun players and staff were all on hand for the tournament, selling raffle tickets, helping register golfers and dispensing beverages.
Following the conclusion of play, a cocktail hour and dinner were held. During the dinner, Pautipaug head golf professional Mike Svab served as auctioneer, with a variety of team and player related items up for sale to all in attendance.
