Sun Claim Anderson

UNCASVILLE, CT. (May 11, 2006) — The Connecticut Sun have claimed Ambrosia Anderson off waivers.

Anderson, who was released by the Minnesota Lynx on May 9th, was drafted out of Brigham Young University in the second round (17th overall) of the 2006 WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock. Detroit then traded her, along with their second round pick in the 2007 WNBA Draft to Minnesota in exchange for Jacqueline Batteast and the Lynx’s third round pick next year.

The 6-foot-1 forward averaged 10.6 points and 5.2 rebounds during her college career. During her senior year, she was named Mountain West Conference Co-Player of the Year.

Anderson will not join the team until she passes a physical.
