Sun Waive Swanier and Hayes
UNCASVILLE, Conn. (June 1, 2009) – The Connecticut Sun announced today that Ketia Swanier and Ashley Hayes have been waived.
Swanier, a first round pick by the Sun in 2008, had six points, five rebounds and six assists during Connecticut’s three preseason games. The 5-foot-7 guard averaged 1.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game for the Sun during the 2008 season.
The 5-10 Hayes was signed by the Sun to a free agent contract on April 22nd. The Murray State product scored 12 points in 32 minutes of action in three preseason contests for Connecticut. She also had four rebounds and two blocks.
The Sun currently have 13 players on their roster.
The Connecticut Sun, which finished the preseason 1-2, opens its seventh season at home on June 6th against the Washington Mystics at 4 p.m. Season tickets and mini plans are on sale now and can be reserved by calling a Sun Ticket Sales Representative at 1.877.SUN.TIXX or visiting www.connecticutsun.com.
