| Shaunzinski Gortman was actually drafted by Anne Donovan in 2002, but on paper only. The Charlotte Sting quickly dealt Gortman's rights to Minnesota as part of a three-player deal on Draft day. Gortman spent two seasons in Minnesota as a reserve, averaging 3.1 points and 2.1 rebounds as a rookie in her best WNBA season. Gortman played four games in Washington in 2004 before being waived by the Mystics last year during camp. At South Carolina, Gortman was an All-SEC First Team pick as a senior after averaging 15.0 points and 6.2 rebounds. She has spent the last two offseasons in Israel, averaging 16.4 points and 10.4 rebounds last season for Maccabi Ashdod. Gortman has good length and is a fine defender at either wing position. After emerging as a stopper off the bench for the Storm, Gortman had her 2006 season cut short by a torn ACL suffered against New York on July 14. She re-signed with the team in February 2007. | ||||||||||||||
