Katie Smith

Katie Smith is the all-time leading scorer in women's professional basketball history, but her name is even more synonymous with success. Starting in college, where she and Head Coach Nancy Darsch led Ohio State to the Final Four as a freshman, Smith has shined on the biggest stages. Drafted out of college by Brian Agler to play for the hometown Columbus Quest of the ABL, Smith was a key part of the Quest team that dominated the league, winning both championships in ABL history. Reunited with Agler in the WNBA with the Minnesota Lynx, Smith emerged as the league's leading scorer, but it was after a 2005 trade to the Detroit Shock that Smith continued adding to her crowded mantle, winning championships in 2006 and 2008 and earning Finals MVP honors in 2008. Before joining the Storm in an April 2011 trade, Smith made a big impact during her lone season with the Washington Mystics. Her veteran leadership helped Washington to a six-game improvement in the standings and the Eastern Conference's best record.
